The latest version of InstallAware Multi-Platform is already installed on my system. However, when I try to install the license, it displays this message.

Re: Unable to install windows License
It seems you installed InstallAware Multi Platform into your Program Files folder, instead of the suggested (and default) user profile folder.
This requires administrator rights, did you manually elevate the InstallAware Multi Platform setup at launch time doing this?
If so, does the problem go away when you run the license installer as administrator, too?
Please note that InstallAware Multi Platform has been designed to not require administrator rights, in accordance with modern application installation guidelines.
You may safely install it inside the recommended user profile folders without loss of any functionality (and without requiring admin rights at any step of installation/maintenance/updates/removal, to say nothing of actual product use).

Re: Unable to install windows License
I have not provided any location; it takes the default location by default.
Secondly, even when I run the license installer as an administrator, it still shows the same message.

Re: Unable to install windows License
Again, I'm unable to reproduce your report. Running setup, it recommends the following path:
If I run setup as administrator, however; I get this path suggested instead:
It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say that you've been reporting a rather disproportionate number of irreproducible cases with the Windows version of InstallAware Multi Platform - have you checked your PC for malware, spyware, ransomware, and/or other harmful software?
Your reports on other platforms, such as Mac and Linux, were very straightforward to reproduce, which informs my thinking.
Also I can't help but mention certain anti-virus vendors are often a cure worse than the disease - Norton comes to mind, with many scandals during years past - whereby they were actively infecting machines due to a sandbox bug, even if the end-user wouldn't actually engage with malicious payloads in any manner themselves.
Anyways, getting back to the case on hand - I'd ask you to run main setup as administrator, uninstall, then run it as ordinary user, install, and see if that helps with your license.
And if that doesn't help, please escalate this matter to formal support - as licensing is outside the scope of what we can do for you here as your peer.
Code: Select all
C:\Users\me\InstallAware Multi Platform\

Re: Unable to install windows License
I have tried in this location
C:\Users\me\InstallAware Multi Platform
But it's not working. I think I need to get help from support.
If you're suggesting it's an antivirus issue, please note that a previous version of InstallAware was already installed on the same machine with a valid license, and it worked fine.

Re: Unable to install windows License
Kind of exactly my point, this sort of inconsistency isn't typical.
