Own Dialog does not appear in Translator

Postby stebi » Fri Jul 28, 2006 3:45 am

Hi,

I created an own dialog to check for a serial number. Now I want to translate it, but it does not appear in the IA Translator. To make the dialog work I also had to include the dialog ".dfm" and ".dfm.miaf" as creatives - maybe this is the reason. How do I include this dialog and make it translateable?

Regards,
Steffen

Are you running 6.01 (SP1)?

If not you may either want to update or try this translator here:

The about dialog says 6.0 (Build gwinnett_sp1.060606). I think it is the newest version? I downloaded and installed it some days ago. I also tried the translator of that forum post, but it's the same. I think that the strings are not exported by IA.

Steffen,

Why is your dialog ending in .dfm2? It should end in .dfm only to be picked up by the translator.

Sorry it was a typo in the posting. The filename ends correcty with ".dfm" but its not picked up by the translator. I looked at the .mtx-file. The ".dfm" is not included there. As I wrote before: Even IA does not recognize it when it's not included in the "Creatives".

When you swap to the code view, can you see your dialog in the Project Manager? If not, please add it there, and try again.

If that doesn't resolve your issue, please let me know the name of your dialog file, its exact location, the exact location of your .MPR file, and its contents (you can upload the .MPR here).

Thanks, adding the dialog to the project manager solves the problem. I didn't know that a dialog could be added that way.

Ah, you do need to add custom dialogs to your project - otherwise they won't work from your script either.

As I wrote I added the dialog as a creative and it works without adding it the project. But you are right, it should be done the indended way.
