Variables in dialogs - label captions

Postby andrejzr » Mon Jul 24, 2006 3:39 pm

Hi,

I want to use the variables for certain labels in the dialog. It works fine, but there is one problem, appearing minor at first, but unacceptable for the installer of the released product.

The problem is, that when showing the dialog (entering the dialog) and also when leaving it, the labels, that should show the variable values, are displayed as $VarName$ (VarName is the actual variable name) for a very short period of time. On a fast computer this might not be so obvious, but it is displayed.

I guess this is a problem with the dialog processing variable values - they should be processed before the dialog is shown, but it looks like the variables are processed after the dialog is already shown.

Can I expect a fix to this problem in the near future?

Thanks
Andrej.

AFAIK its pretty hard to see this. Try using a Hide Dialog command after your Display Dialog commands - see if that helps. It might cause more visible flicker but might resolve your problem.

This is not the solution. If you install on slower computer, it is quite visible. I don't need the fix immediately, but would need to get it in few week time. Our quality control will not allow such things to be visible in final release.
