Hi,
I'm discovering a little bit the web deploy silent installation process.
I've already created a web deploy silent installer and put the files on my webserver, and all the files are downloaded correctly and the installation proceed without problem.
Now, i would like to know, it is possible for the web deploy silent installer to return an error code or error message if the web media block to install is not available by download ?
My tests are made on a machine without internet, to observe how the installer reacts when the web media block files are not accessible on a machine without internet access.
Is there a way to report the missing module when it can't be find from internet ?

Report to where exactly? What are you trying to do with the error code?

Ok, here is what i want to know.
When you launch the installer with the UI, if the web data is not available, the installer shows the dialog attached below.
So, how can i do to make my silent installer report the same error? Is there a way to have an exit code ?
Hope i was a little bit clearer than my previous post.
Best regards,

Hi,
Usually setup bails out the moment an error like this occurs. It doesn’t matter whether the setup is silent or not - it will just bail out (the EXE should return an error code instead of success, of course).
However, if you set ABORTONERROR to FALSE, you can then read ABORTEDONERROR after web media block commands to see if all went well or not (TRUE means an issue occurred).
The help file pre-defined variables topic talks about these variables in detail and does provide usage examples.
